Solve the problem of longevity as a musician
If you're a musician, you're an athlete. You ask a ton of your body and mind regularly but unlike your fellow athletes that compete as a football or soccer player, you don't have the physical or mental support that you need to thrive. You likely don't have amazing health insurance, if any at all. Your team doesn't grant you access to a massage therapist, a staff trainer, a sauna or hot tub, nor do they monitor your mental well-being or offer you a stipend to employ a mental health professional. Oh, and you can't retire and sit back and collect money from your endorsements, by the way. Gotta keep playing gigs and teaching kids to survive. Sadly, this is the existence of musicians in the 21st century.
These are the facts, many of which we can't change, at the present. So what's within your control? Yourself! What can you do to ensure that you are thriving and able to make it for the long haul?
Science tells us the number one thing that you can be doing is moving daily! Lift heavy things, get your heart rate up, and ask more of your mobility! Movement helps you physically AND mentally. It regulates mood, improves cognitive function, reduces pain, and improves sleep. The benefits are astounding!
If you're struggling with pain, burnout, lack of belonging, or frustration as a musician, even if you've tried exercise before, my Movement for Musicians program will help you. Within the training program, we will address three key areas critical to your success: Exercise, Lifestyle, & Motivation.

-
Exercise makes your body stronger and more flexible.
-
Lifestyle factors like sleep, stress, and diet also affect your resilience and ability to be your best. These can be key to your career longevity.
-
Motivation and accountability are what enable you to do the work, even when you feel low or unmotivated. That's what leads to results.
If you've tried exercise but either you didn't stick with it, or it just didn't work - it's probably because you didn't have these three components to support you.
A combination of simple exercises and small but powerful lifestyle adjustments, plus accountability support, are the foundations of Movement for Musicians and will give you the best possible chance to thrive in your music career and daily life!

Hi, I'm Sarah
I’m a professional harpist who’s struggled with pain, burnout, and frustration in the music industry. After spending many years confused and hopeless, I now have the knowledge and tools to overcome my challenges and to play with freedom and joy. I’m fired up to help other musicians build resilience and achieve confidence, even if they feel like they’ve tried so many other solutions.
I’ve developed a plan for musicians to help them identify and address the many factors that are contributing to their physical limitations – and help them find joy and resilience in playing again.
